RE: Case File SA-120816-RtA

The operation was a complete failure. The resistance we encountered was far better trained than we've encountered to date. We were outnumbered and outgunned, and were unable to recover any artifacts. I was able to destroy one of the crates before taking heavy fire myself, but the other three items items in question were lost. Consider them to be in use by evil forces and brief other field teams appropriately.

Additionally, it is with a heavy heart that I must inform you of the loss of Agent Elizabeth Montrose while on assignment pursuant to case file SA-120816-RtA.

I respectfully request that you forward the enclosed personal effects to her family. Also, if possible to do so without revealing too much, please relay my utmost respect and admiration to them. She served heroically in her first two assignments, even saving my own life on one of those occasions. Her death was quick; at the hands of a cultist with obvious skill in long range weaponry who still remains at large. As you know, a swift end is the best one can hope for in our line of work.

I am confident that Agent Montrose had suffered no adverse mental or spiritual damage prior to being lost in action and, as she was following my orders, I accept full responsibility for her death. Her loss will be felt heavily by my team. I know it will be difficult for them, but please consider this letter as formal request for an immediate replacement.

Please be advised that Special Agent Luzifer had recently joined our team and was present for this mission as well. We thought he had been fatally wounded during this operation, but his body seems to have disappeared while we were tending to Agent Montrose. Without clear evidence of his demise or survival I recommend that he be listed is Missing In Action.

I played two games yesterday, one of which I can't really tell the world about in detail...as it was a preview / play test of an upcoming scenario.

I did take a few photos of the game described here, but I don't know if I need to post them up or not. I suppose I could just add them in at the end of the post.

Added the few pictures I remembered to take from Elizabeth's last mission. It was a pretty big disappointment for me. She was hit with the first shot taken on the Lurker player's first turn. Bad positioning on my part, good strategy and rolling on his. :(

I picked a model to use for her replacement, but I haven't decided on colors yet...

Marvel Universe Miniatures Game - Avengers Painted

Shortly before the Marvel Universe Miniatures Game was released by Knight Models I picked up several single pack figures at a slight discount. The game dropped shortly after, but has so far seemed difficult to acquire in Canada. I'm hoping once I get out an do a few demos it will pick up locally like the Batman game has started to do. This is the original model for Black Widow, which I prefer greatly over the highly sexualized one that comes in the Avengers starter box. Farewell Ozzy!

This afternoon I found out that the Prince of Darkness, Ozzy Osbourne, has passed away. Although I've been a fan since my early teens, I am surprised at how strong my reaction to the news has been. I had missed out on catching the Black Sabbath farewell show a few weeks back during live stream, so I've not yet seen it. A friend of mine told me about a few days after, and I'm looking forward to watching it when it becomes available. I've had the good fortune of seeing Ozzy perform twice; once at an outdoor stadium show with Zakk Wylde on guitar, and once with Black Sabbath several years later. I remember more about the experience of those shows than the specific details, and could not tell you set lists or anything like that. His impact on music and pop culture, both as a member of Black Sabbath and a solo artist simply cannot be understated. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in 28mm

I have to start off by saying that this might be the nerdiest post I've written to date, and that's sayin' something! The amount of fun I've had working on these, and thinking about what kind of games or scenarios I could play with them has been pretty ridiculous. I'll admit that I fully intended to have these completed before end of the year...that obviously didn't happen. There are a few options out there for figures, but they are either the wrong scale, too damned expensive of just don't capture the feel I was looking for; and then I found this! The TMNT Foot Clan Street Fight  board game was on sale for $12. After I liberated the figures out of the copy I bought, I made some cardboard standees so that I could still play the game with my nephews. It was a big hit during our Christmas holiday too!
